Because of Your Generosity
❝The world is built on chesed (kindness).❞
These beautiful and powerful words describe Yad Sarah’s work. Our caring staff, volunteers and supporters always rally – giving what we can when our neighbours are in need.
So many lives changed and so many families helped because of our services – especially in the past year.
Because of your generosity, our accessible vans transported some 500 people every day to rehab programs, medical appointments, to school and work, and more.
We loaned over 350,000 items of medical and rehabilitative equipment from the most basic crutches to the most sophisticated cardiac apnea monitors.
And our Emergency Alarm Centre volunteers answered more that 110,000 alerts at any time of the day or night from people who were sick and needed an ambulance, who were alone, frightened, or even just needed help finding new glasses.
Looking to the future
While the statistics are impressive, when I think about the real impact Yad Sarah has had in the past year, I think about the people we must still help: young and old, newborns, sick fathers and injured soldiers, generations of families!
As we prepare to celebrate Rosh Hashanah, it is gratifying to look back at the past year – but only briefly; we must always look ahead, finding new ways to serve the people of Israel.
Your generosity is essential to ensure we can start our New Year ready to help the people of Israel who need us, when they need us.
But we can’t do it alone. The work of Yad Sarah is only possible with the support of loving, caring individuals. Some donate their time, some provide equipment, some offer their expertise, and others – like you – provide funds needed to fuel our work. Your gifts allow us to purchase home care equipment and wheelchair-accessible vans, to enable our volunteers to reach out to the isolated and homebound and to ensure our mobile dental clinic team can provide care in remote areas.
Wishing you good health, happiness, peace and prosperity today and all through the year! L’Shanah Tova.
